Leadership Development

Supporting leadership with clarity, depth and relevance

I believe that strong, conscious leadership is not only a competitive advantage for organisations – it is a cultural and social responsibility. Supporting people who carry leadership responsibility is work I value deeply. For over 20 years, I have accompanied leaders and leadership teams through coaching, strategic workshops and customised development programmes – from dynamic start-ups to global corporations, from first-time managers to seasoned executives. Many of my clients work internationally or in intercultural settings, and I frequently support mixed leadership groups across sectors and levels.

Hundreds of personal stories and leadership experiences have been shared with me. Some speak to the consequences of unreflected, default-mode leadership.
They remind me why leadership deserves our attention, not just as a role, but as a practice that calls for reflection and ongoing engagement. Other stories show what becomes possible when people lead with awareness and alignment – these moments continue to inspire me.

Professional background

I began my career in corporate learning and leadership development and spent several years as programme lead at the Daimler Corporate Academy Berlin – designing and delivering pan-European leadership initiatives during times of major transformation.

Since 2013, I have been working independently under my own brand – Ellen Herb – Leadership Development – consulting and coaching leaders and organisations in Germany and internationally.
During this time, I also co-founded a consultancy and have collaborated with many inspiring colleagues in co-creating leadership programmes and interventions.

I’m a trained systemic coach and facilitator, with additional qualifications in methods such as Hogan Assessments, Business Constellations, LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®, intercultural competence, agile formats and moderating strategic workshops. I work in both German and English.
I’m grateful for the many stages of my professional journey – and for the people I’ve worked and learned with along the way.

How I Work

My approach is systemic, strategic and grounded in practice. I work in close partnership with my clients – as a coach, programme architect or facilitator – and, in larger projects, in collaboration with trusted colleagues.

My formats support both personal reflection and organisational alignment. I do not offer off-the-shelf solutions, but develop each format based on the needs, goals and culture of the people and systems I work with.

The spaces I create are clear, respectful and psychologically safe. Clients appreciate the openness of our work together – and the trust they feel in the process.

Learning plays a central role in everything I do. I believe that leadership and learning go hand in hand – for individuals, teams, and organisations. And I see myself as part of that process: curious, evolving, and always learning from the people I work with.
